Tear-Jerking Mother's Day Video Reminds Moms to Embrace the Chaos
Because between the tantrums and messes, there's countless moments of joy.
— -- It's the little things.
That's the inspiration behind the moving Mother's Day video from the people at Jane.com. The little moments of motherhood -- yes, including tantrums, the sleep deprivation and, in between, the countless moments of joy each day.
It's part of the company's campaign to celebrate every moment of motherhood, Jane.com Chief Operating Officer JD Stice said.
"Not that messages of strong mothers doing out-of-this-world things aren’t moving and powerful, but we believe it’s the accumulation of all of the little moments, both good and bad, that make moms so amazing," Stice said.
The site is popular with young moms, Stice said, many of whom are "are struggling with the especially hard moments motherhood brings right now, and with so many opinions and books and media out there telling them how to be a mother, and the expectation our society has set on being perfect, there are moms out there who feel that they aren’t doing enough -- we want to show them that they are and that we are grateful for it."
The video, like motherhood itself, is messy at times.
"Too often, moms take care of mundane, gross, boring tasks without ever receiving recognition or appreciation for it, but who else is going to do it if Mom doesn’t?" he said.
Stice said he hopes the Love Every #Moment campaign and video will make moms do just that.
"We hope more than anything that this video will instill a message of hope and love to all moms out there," Stice said. "Motherhood isn’t always going to be perfect, and like what you see on social media and blogs. Motherhood isn’t going to be easy. But motherhood is always worth it. Always."
