Meet the Students from UF

The University of Florida ABC News On Campus Staff Reports from Gainesville

Brittny Krause

Brittny Krause, bureau chief, is a senior at the University of Florida pursuing a bachelor's degree in telecommunications news. Born in Philadelphia, Penn., but a Florida girl at heart, Krause has always had a passion for the television business.

Besides working for ABC News On Campus, Krause reports and anchors for the on campus television station, WUFT-TV. She also reports, anchors and produces for the on-campus radio station WRUF-AM, where her work has been honored by the Society of Professional Journalists and the Florida Associated Press.

Aside from news, Krause is a sports fan and an active student reporter for ESPN-U Campus Connection. She loves watching Regis and Kelly and Sportscenter. In her free time, she likes spending time with family, working out and cheering on her favorite team, the Florida Gators.




Miles Doran

Miles Doran is a broadcast journalism senior at the University of Florida. Since 2008, he has reported for ABC News On Campus, covering stories ranging from tropical storms to underwear runs.

Doran also reports for WRUF-AM and WUFT-TV in Gainesville, Fla., and is a stringer for CBS Radio News. He has interned at WFTS-TV (ABC) and WTSP-TV (CBS) in Tampa as well as with the CBS Evening News in New York City. In the summer of 2009 he worked as a digital journalist for CBS News.




Patrick Fleming

Patrick Fleming, a member of the inaugural ABC News On Campus class, returns for his second year reporting and shooting for the University of Florida bureau.

Fleming has spent a good part of his life in the news business. While in high school, in Gainesville, he began working as a sports intern at the local ABC affiliate in 2001. Over the years, he climbed the ranks to become weekend producer and videographer. Fleming also worked as a producer and videographer for WUFT-TV, the on-campus television station.

When he's not busy in the newsroom, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, and watching sports.




Katie Sanders

Katie Sanders joins ABC News on Campus this fall as a journalism senior at the University of Florida.

Earlier this year, Sanders spent the spring semester covering Congress, policy and education issues while interning at Congress Daily in Washington, D.C. Over the summer, she moved back to Florida and covered local and breaking news while interning at The St. Augustine Record, a daily newspaper.

She began her reporting career by working for The Independent Florida Alligator, billed as the country's largest student-run newspaper, for almost two years, serving as a copy editor, student government and administration reporter, and university editor.

Sanders has also taken two international trips as part of her reporting training. Her first was in October 2008 to Guatemala, where she reported on hunger and malnutrition as part of a University of Florida class. The second was a week-long stay in Jordan as part of a press trip organized by the Jordanian Embassy for college reporters.

She belongs to the University of Florida's Journalism and Communications Ambassadors and will graduate in May 2010.
