With Election Day finally at hand, here's a numerical look at swing state visits, TV ads run and money spent by the Obama and Romney campaigns:

  • Most visited state of 2012 campaigns - Ohio, for both candidates

  • Top 4 battleground states visited in 2012 for Romney - Ohio (51 visits), Florida (43), Virginia (26), Iowa (21)

  • Top 4 battleground states visited in 2012 for Obama - Ohio (22 visits), Virginia (19), Florida (15), Colorado (12)

  • Overall spending related to presidential race including candidate, national party and outside spending (through Oct. 17) - Obama - $931,471,420, Romney: $1,022,753,733 (Center for Responsive Politics)
