— -- Donald Trump met with RNC Chairman Reince Priebus today, a source with knowledge of the meeting tells ABC News.
According to the source, Trump initiated the meeting with the RNC. The source tells ABC the goal of the meeting was to begin to establish "regular communication on activities" (such as the RNC convention this summer and the general election in the fall) between the GOP and the business mogul.
Leaving the RNC meeting, Trump gave a thumbs up and waved from the window of his car to the crowd. This meeting comes after his four hour long meeting this morning at the Old Post Office with his foreign policy team and advisers.
Trump tweeted after that he had a "very nice meeting" with Priebus.
“The Chairman and Mr. Trump had a productive conversation about the state of the race," the RNC said of the meeting in a statement. "The Chairman is in constant communication with all of the candidates and their campaigns about the primaries, general election, and the convention. Meeting and phone conversations with candidates and their campaigns are common and will increase as we get closer to November."
