Michelle Obama Channels 'The Good Wife' With SOTU Power Dress
The First Lady takes fashion cues from another famous political wife.
— -- A number of the first lady's special guests appeared to follow her lead and wear gray to Tuesday's speech.
Little did they know that she was taking fashion cues from another famous political wife.
An eagle-eyed Twitter user recognized that Mrs. Obama was wearing a dress and matching jacket that the lead character on "The Good Wife" wore last season.
The grey zippered jacket with a large folded collar and matching jacket was sported by Julianna Margulies' character Alicia Florrick, who, in the show, is the wife of the fictitious governor of Illinois.
The Michael Kors top, called the Origami Collar Tweed Jacket, is sold out at Nordstroms but still available through Neiman Marcus, where it retails for $797.
Kors himself acknowledged Mrs. Obama's outfit, writing on Twitter, "The state of style - pretty powerful."
Mrs. Obama also clearly decided to forgo the designer's full vision for the outfit, however, since it originally was paired with a matching skirt that had a zipper slit. Her dress had no such slit.
