— -- President “Fitz” Grant is hitting the campaign trail.

Tony Goldwyn, the actor who stars as the fictional president on ABC’s political drama “Scandal,” will be campaigning for Hillary Clinton in Iowa this coming weekend on Dec. 12 and 13.

The actor is expected to participate in a series of grassroots organizing events and house parties throughout the state in Des Moines, Iowa City, Cedar Rapids and Bettendorf. Clinton herself is not expected to attend.

Out on the trail, Goldwyn may have to distance himself from his fictional persona on "Scandal" -- where he plays a Republican president who is having an affair on his wife, and who won the White House only after his aides committed election fraud.

Goldwyn is one of several celebrities backing Clinton, others on the list, include, Olivia Wilde, Katy Perry, Ricky Martin and Lena Dunham.

His "Scandal" co-star, Kerry Washington, has also expressed her support.
