House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wisconsin, has formally invited President Barack Obama to deliver his last State of the Union to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016.
“As we look ahead to the new year, we have both an opportunity and an obligation to find common ground to advance the nation’s interests at home and abroad,” Ryan wrote in a letter sent to the White House today.
“We also owe it to the American people to present solutions that address the challenges they face," Ryan said.
When asked if Jan. 12 was acceptable for the president, a White House spokesman confirmed "you can report we will be there!"
