— -- Taylor Swift is arguably one of America's brightest stars, so it wasn't too surprising to people inside the beltway when the office of the House speaker chopped up a dozen GIFs of the singer to illustrate its reaction to the president’s proposal to provide free community college to millions of Americans.

This was something that Swift apparently had no knowledge of beforehand.

Last week, President Obama announced his latest idea to provide "free" community college to millions of Americans.

But apparently, nobody sought Swift's approval or sent any draft proposals to the pop superstar herself.

When asked if Swift was aware that her likeness was being used on House Speaker John Boehner's blog, a spokesperson for the singer told ABC News: "We were not aware prior to its release."
