Meet Emma Coronel, El Chapo's Beauty Queen Wife
Beautiful women and wealthy gangsters seem to go hand-in-hand, so it might not come as a surprise that Emma Coronel, the wife of Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, is a former beauty queen.
The now-arrested alleged drug lord married Coronel, who is believed to be in her 20s, after he saw her in a beauty pageant, according to reports.
Coronel, a dual US-Mexican citizen, made headlines in 2011 when she traveled to California to give birth to twin daughters, according to the Los Angeles Times. She then reportedly returned with her daughters to Mexico.
The beauty queen was alongside her husband when authorities caught up with them in Mazatlan this weekend.

Just when you thought you could believe in love again, actress Paula Patton and Robin Thicke have called it quits.
Despite lewd performances, including Thicke's at last year's MTV VMAs with Miley Cyrus, and rumors of infidelity, Thicke continued to say how strong his marriage was to the actress, whom he had been with for two decades.
While some tweeters said they saw it coming, others said their belief in love had been shaken. As @ChanelKnowsBest put it:
"Paula Patton and Robin Thicke have been together so long and now they're not together anymore, I don't understand love sometimes."
Gabriele Grunewald has been reinstated as the U.S. indoor women's 3,000-meter champion after a fellow athlete dropped her claim that she had been jostled during a race, USA Track & Field announced in a statement.
She will now represent the United States at the World Indoors championship next month in Poland.
"Thrilled to see news of my reinstatement," Grunewald tweeted Monday. "I hope this unfortunate situation can be avoided in the future."
Cheryl Cole Loves Milan Fashion Week
Singer, television personality and fashionista Cheryl Cole shared some snaps from Milan Fashion Week.
"Hello Milan.. We made it to your beautiful city .. #Thankyoufor yourwelcome," she wrote on Instagram, along with a photo of herself wearing a black mini skirt and gray turtle neck sweater.
Judging by Cole's photos, it seems she had a nicer time then Katy Perry. A video showed the singer being heckled on the catwalk at the Moschino show after she allegedly kept critics waiting a little too long for the show to start.
