Pope Francis focused the theme of his Easter Sunday message on the crises in Ukraine, Syria, Venezuela and Nigeria, praying for peace in those countries that have been wracked with political tension, violence and bloodshed of late.

After the mass, held under a canopy on the steps of St. Peter’s Basilica, the pontiff moved to the balcony to deliver his Urbi and Orbi (Latin for to the city and to the world) blessing in front of a crowd of more than 150,000 people in the square below, according to the AP.

Maybe he can ask Miss Universe?

High school senior Patrick Farves said he was suspended for standing up during a school assembly and asking Nina Davuluri, the current Miss America to prom, according to the Associated Press.

Unfortunately for Farves, a student at Central York High school in York, Pa., Davuluri laughed off the invitation and Favres was suspended for three days.

School officials had heard about Farves' plan in advance and warned him not to do it.

With any luck he’ll be back at school in time for prom, even if he is without a date.

For the first time in its 27-year history, North Korea's annual Pyongyang Marathon was opened to international runners.

Kim Jong-un did not compete, but the Social Climber is sure that if he had, he would have won the race.

Instead, North Korea's Pak Chol crossed the finish line first with a time of 2 hours, 12 minutes and 26 seconds. North Korean twin sisters Kim Hye Gyong and Kim Hye Song took the top two spots in the women's race with a time of 2:27:04 for the winner, the Associated Press reported.
