— -- NFL Nation reporters look ahead to what Sunday has in store for each team.

AFC EAST

Buffalo Bills: Quarterback Matt Cassel was among the players released Saturday as the Bills trimmed their roster to 51, creating two open spots. That allows the Bills to scour the waiver wire this weekend and claim players without having to release players who have already made the cut to 53. The Bills could use depth up front; there are only seven offensive linemen and six defensive linemen on their roster. -- Mike Rodak

AFC NORTH

Baltimore Ravens: Who's the Ravens' returner? That's a legitimate question after Baltimore cut Asa Jackson, the team's primary returner this preseason. Michael Campanaro is the leading candidate to handle punts, even though he has returned only two punts in his NFL career. The Ravens envisioned him as a Julian Edelman-type player when they drafted Campanaro in the seventh round last year. Baltimore's other options are Lardarius Webb and Steve Smith.  -- Jamison Hensley

AFC SOUTH

Houston Texans: The Texans will be scanning the waiver wire for players who have been released by other teams, but three undrafted rookies have tentatively made the team. Center/guard Greg Mancz, tackle Kendall Lamm, who started at left tackle in Week 3 of the preseason, and outside linebacker Carlos Thompson all made the initial Texans 53-man roster. -- Tania Ganguli

AFC WEST

Denver Broncos: Despite two defensive starters who are suspended to open the season -- defensive end Derek Wolfe and safety T.J. Ward -- the Broncos stuck to the keep-the-best-53 plan and will open the season with six wide receivers with two full-time tight ends ( Owen Daniels and Virgil Green) to go with fullback/tight end James Casey. And that may well mean the Broncos will work out of a three-wide receiver set more than initially expected. -- Jeff Legwold

NFC EAST

Dallas Cowboys: Just because the Cowboys were able to meet the 53-man roster limit on Saturday doesn't mean the roster is final for the first week of the season. The Cowboys went heavier than expected at defensive line (11 players) and could still look for help at receiver, running back, linebacker and offensive line, which could require moves today or Monday to stay under the limit. The Cowboys don't return to the practice field until Monday. -- Todd Archer

NFC NORTH

Chicago Bears: Shea McClellin and Will Sutton cruised through the preseason and locked up spots on the 53 well in advance of Saturday's cut down date. The Bears seem particularly pleased with Sutton, who will be expected to take on a larger role with Jeremiah Ratliff suspended for the first three games of 2015. "I think Will has had a good camp," Bears head coach John Fox said. "I wasn't really too sure what to expect from really anybody being new and being a new staff, so we just evaluate and do our best to pick the best players. And I think he's proven that he's moved up the depth chart." -- Jeff Dickerson

NFC SOUTH

Atlanta Falcons: The Falcons cut their roster down to 52, meaning they have one roster spot remaining. They could sift around for another quarterback with unproven Sean Renfree the only insurance behind Matt Ryan. Or could the Falcons seek help at offensive tackle, with Jake Matthews dealing with a back strain and Lamar Holmes on the physically unable to perform list while recovering from a broken foot? Veteran tackle Jake Long, who worked out for the Falcons, remains on the open market. -- Vaughn McClure

NFC WEST

Arizona Cardinals: There were few surprises on the Cardinals' 53-man roster because the biggest news came Friday when they traded for Matt Barkley. General manager Steve Keim will spend Sunday afternoon scouring the waiver wire to see which young standouts and veterans can contribute to the current roster. -- Josh Weinfuss
