— -- Tim Tebow, who is trying out in front of Major League Baseball teams Tuesday, is wearing Adidas shorts and cleats as the former Heisman Trophy winner has signed a multiyear deal with the shoe and apparel brand, sources told ESPN.

Terms were not available.

Sources said there was always an active dialogue between Tebow and shoe and apparel companies. His attempt to make it in baseball accelerated that timeline.

It's not surprising that Adidas stepped up, having spent plenty of money recently to score those who draw the eyeballs, including Kris Bryant and Carlos Correa.

Despite slipping to the 25th overall selection in the 2010 NFL draft, Tebow was a marketing star, signing an endorsement deal with Nike worth $300,000 a year.
