— -- The Thanksgiving turkey isn't even on the table yet but the Black Friday deals have already begun.

Amazon's Black Friday deals store is open for business -- weeks before the actual shopping day, which falls on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Black Friday this year will be Nov. 27 but Amazon isn't wasting any time building hype by rolling out a slate of deals -- sort of like an opening act before the big day.

"Black Friday 2015 is almost here, but we didn't want you to wait until the day after Thanksgiving for Black Friday deals, so we kicked off the savings a little early," a description on Amazon's Black Friday page said. "We are counting down to the big day with even more deals, all day, every day. You'll find Amazon's fantastic early Black Friday sales right here."

Among the deals listed are a Motorola Moto X (second generation) phone for $199.99, "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" game for $39.99, 50 percent off Saucony running shoe and 25 percent off select Cesar dog food products.

Amazon is also offering lightning deals, which give Prime members a slight head start on buying the bargains, which are offered at a discount in limited quantities. Among today's lightning deals are 50 percent off a window insulation kit, a $12.99 crystal growing science kit and 32 percent off a Michael Kors purse.

Keep in mind it's still early, though. Amazon hasn't yet included any of the usual Black Friday big ticket items yet, such as flat screen TVs, laptops, tablets and gaming consoles.
