See What International Space Station Looks Like Crossing the Moon

— -- A striking new picture from NASA helps put the size of the International Space Station and the moon in perspective.

The photo, taken Sunday, shows the space station crossing the moon at approximately five miles per second, NASA said. It appears as a little black squiggle on the face of the moon.

The space station orbits about 300 miles above Earth while the Moon is about 238,000 miles away from Earth.

Two NASA astronauts are on board the space station, as well as three Russian cosmonauts and one Japanese astronaut.
