iPhone 5 May Arrive in October
According to Al Gore, Apple's new smartphone could arrive next month.
September 22, 2011— -- In today's TechBytes: There's now a possible date for the iPhone 5.
At a recent conference in South Africa, former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, a member of Apple's board, said it will be released next month.
And Apple has scheduled a product announcement for Oct. 4.
Facebook Updates
Facebook is tweaking users' homepages and many of its 750 million members are not happy about the changes.
The biggest difference is something called "Top Stories" high up on the pages.
And even more changes could be announced later today at Facebook's annual developers' conference.
Bose SoundLink Wireless Mobile Speaker
Bose has a new wireless external speaker for smartphones and tablets.
The New York Times's Sam Grobart recently tested the device and gives it high marks.
"I found the SoundLink to be very impressive as far as sound quality was concerned. It filled a room with very rich, broad, deep sound. And I thought that playing music that I was familiar with off of my own phone, I really enjoyed listening to it on it," said Grobart.
The Bose SoundLink speaker sells for about $300.
