What people want in a new iPhone
— -- For this debut episode of USA TODAY's Talking Your Tech video series, we stopped by an Apple Store in Los Angeles this to talk to consumers about the iPhone. A new model is set to be unveiled Tuesday by Apple, so we wondered what sort of improvements people most desire.
The iPhone4, when it was introduced in 2010, had a richer and sharper graphic display, video camera and faster processer than the previous, iPhone 3GS version. A more robust camera is expected to lead off the new features in what's being referred to by bloggers as the iPhone 5.
Here's some highlights of what consumers would like to see:
Better battery
"The battery goes after one day," said Sandra Pehrsson, visiting Los Angeles from Sweeden. "That's one of the problems with iPhones."
Faster processor
"It works good on the iPhone 4, but you would want it to go even faster," said Jonathan Fritzon, a tourist from Stockholm.
No dropped calls
"I love the iPhone, but wish I didn't get dropped calls," said Raquel Trifon, os Los Angeles.
Larger display
"Bigger screen," said Ash Sharma, a tourist from Minneapolis.
Huge discounts
"It would have to be free," said Adam Reuss, of Los Angeles. "You don't need a smartphone. You have tech already, you don't need it on your phone. You can find the score later, you can find your e-mail later. These things make us really tense, relax people. "
