Find out all the details about Samsung's wearable gadget today.
Sept. 4, 2013 — -- The time has come. Quite literally. Samsung is set to unveil its Galaxy Gear smartwatch today along with its next version of its Galaxy Note at a press conference at the IFA technology tradeshow in Berlin.
In interviews, Samsung executives have been teasing the watch that would be an extension of a phone. And earlier this week VentureBeat reported that the watch will have a 3-inch OLED display, voice controls and even a camera. The site also got a hold of some images of the watch, though other reports said the photos were of prototype devices.

According to VentureBeat, battery life is about 10 hours, which makes sense given the OLED display. The Pebble smartwatch, which has an E-Ink display, promises seven days of endurance.
The Samsung watch is expected to be the first in a series of smart watches introduced by consumer electronic companies. Apple, in particular, has been rumored to be working on an iWatch that would work with the iPhone. Google and Microsoft are also said to be working on their own wrist devices.
At today's event Samsung is also expected to announce the next version of its Galaxy Note -- the Note III. The large-screened Note phones have had 5- to 5.5-inch screens and have come with a stylus or pen for taking notes.
ABC News will have live coverage and a live video stream of the Samsung's announcement today starting at 12:45 p.m. ET / 9:45 a.m. PT.
