— -- Happy Star Wars Day!
While it's (shockingly) not a national holiday, the annual May 4th celebration of the film franchise is perhaps the most special day of the year for “Star Wars” fans.
Peter Mayhew, who played Chewbacca, kicked off the festivities today by tweeting his well-wishes along with an amazing photo of himself flanked by two storm troopers.
With the newest Lucasfilm installment in the series, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," hitting theaters Dec. 18, there is a lot to celebrate this year.
So, without further ado: May the 4th Be With You!
Disney, the parent company of ABC News, also owns Lucasfilm.
