'Most Wanted' Fugitive Captured in L.A.
The reputed gang member will be questioned in murder cases.
Jan. 24, 2008— -- One of the top ten fugitives wanted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement was captured Wednesday in Los Angeles, according to immigration officials.
David Rivera, a suspected MS-13 gang member, is wanted for questioning by the Los Angeles Police Department in connection with several homicides.
As agents closed in on Rivera in an apartment complex in the Rampart neighborhood of Los Angeles, he attempted to flee, but was quickly captured by ICE agents with the assistance of LAPD officers and detectives.
Rivera has been wanted for four years, and had previously been deported after a conviction on a weapons charge. He is in the U.S. illegally.
The 33-year-old alleged gang member faces 20 years in prison for illegal re-entry after being deported.
