Oct. 5, 2008— -- Nick Reynolds, 75 -- Folk singer. Won two Grammys with the Kingston Trio and helped launch the 1950s folk revival.
Osborn Elliott, 83 -- Managing editor, Newsweek. Under his stewardship from 1960-76, the magazine's readership almost doubled.
J.L. Chestnut, 77 -- Civil rights lawyer. The first black attorney in Selma, Ala., he spent 50 years fighting for minority voting rights.
