Crowdsource Your Chopper Ride to the Hamptons & Other Luxury Vacation Necessities
Book a yacht, a Maserati or even a private jet with your phone.
May 20, 2014— -- If your Memorial Day weekend plans include private planes, helicopter rides, or yachts, you're in luck.
A new app called Blade launched this week and allows users to crowdsource and book a helicopter ride from their phone. Seats will cost as little as $450 for the 40 minute flight, and come with a glass of rose wine and a newspaper.
It's the latest in ultra-luxury travel conveniences, but if you're not up for a chopper ride, check out the rest of these necessities for booking your budget-breaking weekend getaway:
Uber for Private Jets
Flying private no longer requires that you own a jet emblazoned with your name. These days, you can book a seat on a private plane from your iPhone.
Black Jet has an app as easy to use as that of Uber car service, only it allows users to book a seat on a private plane with the click of their fingers. A trip from New York to Miami for this Friday would cost you a little over $1,800.
Yacht for Rent
If you'd rather be on the water than flying over it this holiday weekend, a yacht rental might be right for you. Boat Bookings allows users to reserve a super yacht with a private staff on St. Maarten, St. Bart's, and many other islands in just minutes. Prices run from about $40,000 to $60,000 per week.
Lamborghini Rental
Perhaps you've already got a mansion on the beach and just need a way to get there. No need to schlep on the train or bus; you can rent a luxury car by the week.
Gotham Dream Cars has rental locations in New York, Miami, Las Vegas, and other major U.S. Cities, and rents Lamborghinis, Aston Martins, Bentleys, Maseratis and Ferraris. A Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 can be yours for just $1450 a day.
Champagne by the Case
When money's no object, you can have cases of Armand de Brignac Ace of Spades champagne delivered to your travel destination.
Spending Memorial Day weekend in St. Tropez? Black Diamond Lifestyle will ship the gold stuff to your villa for $130. The cost of each bottle is $300. Need more than one? The company now sells a 30-liter bottle of Ace of Spades called the "Midas" that sells for $100,000 and up.
