Only in Vegas: Crotchless panties from room service

— -- "Hello, room service? Can you send up a pair of crotchless underwear and a pair of handcuffs?"

Room-service staffers can, 24/7, at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas.

Its "Get Love" brochure, placed in each room and suite a few weeks ago, features erotic items from the resort's Love Jones boutique. They range from the peek-a-boo bra ($48), to skimpy French-maid-style outfit ($98), to blindfolds ($30), to rabbit-fur handcuffs ($36).

So far a popular item is the $146 "Turn Me On Vibrating Panties," says Nicole Dineen, retail buyer for the resort. Why?

"They're such a novelty," Dineen says. "The partner can hold the remote control in a restaurant or club, and there's a little fantasy right there."

(Those who've seen the movie The Ugly Truth may recall a scene in which star Katherine Heigl wears a pair of vibrating panties to a business dinner. A clueless kid takes control of the remote and drives the scene to a hilarious climax. You can view it on YouTube.) Meanwhile, erotic room-service brochures are fast disappearing from Hard Rock rooms, as guests swipe them to take home as an only-in-Vegas souvenir.

While some hotels in Vegas and elsewhere offer intimacy kits in minibars — condoms, massage oil and the like — "nobody takes it to the edge like we do," Dineen says. The erotic room-service menu "is not offered in any other hotel I know of."

Readers, what do you think of the concept? Have you seen it elsewhere?
