— -- An alleged drunken driver in Illinois crashed into a 15-foot-tall tree, lifted it out of the ground and then continued driving around town with the trunk wedged into the grille of her Lincoln sedan, according to the Roselle Police Department.

The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on Jan. 23, 2016, Deputy Chief Roman Tarchala of the Roselle Police Department told ABC News today. "She was charged with DUI, no insurance and obstructed windshield,” Tarchala said, adding that her next hearing is in April.

Tarchala said he did not believe she has entered a plea.

A police report naming the woman will not be released until the case goes to court and is adjudicated, he said. Tarchala said no one was injured in the incident.

He said the police department recently joined Facebook and thought that it would be an interesting story to share to warn citizens of unforeseen dangers involved in driving under the influence.

"Our whole intention was to put it out there with the message of don't drink and drive," Tarchala said.
