Americans Killed in Afghanistan Suicide Attack Identified
Six airmen were killed in action, the DOD said.
— -- The six airmen killed in a suicide blast in Afghanistan were identified by military officials Tuesday.
Two of those killed were from New York, Tech. Sgt. Joseph Lemm, 45, from The Bronx, who was also a veteran NYPD detective, and Staff Sgt. Louis Bonacasa, 31, of Coram. Both were assigned to Stewart Air National Guard Base in New York.
Also killed were four airmen assigned to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations: Maj. Adrianna Vorderbruggen, 36, of Plymouth, Minnesota, Staff Sgt. Michael Cinco, 28, of Mercedes, Texas, Staff Sgt. Peter Taub, 30, of Philadelphia, PA and Staff Sgt. Chester McBride, 30, of Statesboro, GA.
The servicemembers were killed on Dec. 21 when a suicide bomber on a motorbike attacked their patrol near Bagram Air Base.
At the New York Rangers game Tuesday night, there was a moment of silence for those killed and Lemm's photo was flashed across the screen.
