— -- An armed man was taken into custody at Arkansas State University Thursday afternoon after driving a pickup truck onto the center of campus, officials said.
But police later said that he had been holding a shotgun under his chin and threatening himself, according to the Associated Press, citing university police.
Police said the 47-year-old man, would also occasionally put gasoline on the truck and did not threaten officers, the AP said.
No one was injured in the incident and no shots were fired, according to an Arkansas State University press release.
The incident began when a suspect "drove a pickup truck into center of campus" and the University police department issued a campus-wide text alert urging everyone to lock their doors and shelter in place.
