Caught on Video: Real-Life Bambi and Thumper Play in the Mountains
Two YMCA volunteers in Colorado caught the two playing on video.
— -- Disney is known for its compelling animated storytelling, but now one of its stories has come to life.
An adorable fawn and rabbit -- now nicknamed Bambi and Thumper -- came out to play with one another in the Rocky Mountains and their whole interaction was caught on video.
The YMCA of the Rockies shared the video on its Facebook page on Tuesday and it has since been watched more than 132,000 times.
“It just brightens everyone’s day when they watch it,” YMCA of the Rockies spokeswoman Martha Sortland told ABC News today.
The video shows the deer jumping around its rabbit friend in front of the Lula W. Dorsey museum in Estes Park, Colorado.
Two museum guide volunteers, Steve and Vicky Johnsen, were able to shoot the video from the museum’s front porch on Aug. 6.
“No one had seen the deer and the rabbit playing around before and [Steve and Vicky] randomly captured it at the right moment,” Sortland said.
