Oct. 23, 2013— -- When a Georgia high-school cheerleader started flipping backward at her school's homecoming football game, she kept going for 34 seconds -- until she had reportedly broken a world record.

Westlake High School's Mikayla Clark broke the Guinness World Record for most consecutive back handsprings, ABC affiliate WSB-TV reported today.

She flipped 44 times, breaking the previous record of 36, according to WSB-TV. She performed her gymnastic feat at the Atlanta school's homecoming football game.

Clark's coach said the 16-year-old had been practicing since the start of the football season, and that she expected a certificate from Guinness World Records to come this week, according to WSB-TV.
