Eric Frein, accused of fatally shooting one state police trooper and wounding another outside their northeastern Pennsylvania barracks and apprehended after a 48-day manhunt, is pictured making his first court appearance since his initial arraignment, on Jan. 5, 2014.

The 31-year-old survivalist, who was previously pictured in camouflage and military-style clothing from war re-enactments, appeared clean-shaven and wearing glasses.

When Frein was apprehended after police discovered him hiding out at an abandoned airplane hangar, there was a visible, bloody cut on his nose.

This morning's court appearance was held for a judge to decide if there was sufficient grounds to order a case against Frein in the attack on the state troopers.
