A bride in her wedding gown was found stabbed to death in her bathtub in a southwest suburb of Chicago this weekend, according to police.
Estrella Carrera, 25, was found on Sunday afternoon by police, just days after her Friday night wedding to a 30-year-old Chicago man. The groom's name was not immediately released.
Police are investigating the homicide as a "domestic situation," they said today.
Carrera was last seen around 2 a.m. on Saturday morning, hours after the ceremony, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Carrera's sister became concerned after Carrera failed to pick up her two children, ages 8 and 2, from the sister's care on Sunday. She contacted police to go to the Carrera's home and check on her, where police found her in a dry bath tub with multiple stab wounds, according to a police statement.
