Orlando Girl Makes Cards for Victims' Families in Hopes They Feel 'Much, Much Better'

— -- Madison Lindsey, 6, was upset that her mother, Lynsey Pink, had to work late this weekend, but when she learned why, she pitched in herself in the best way she knew how.

Pink, a nursing student at Valencia College in Orlando, has been dealing with the overflow of patients since the Pulse nightclub shooting on Sunday, she told ABC News.

When her daughter asked where she'd been, Pink replied, "I was out helping people."

Madison wanted to help, too, but didn't know how. "Why don't you draw something," her mother suggested.

"I made the cards so people could feel much, much better so they can remember people who were killed and shot," Madison told ABC's Orlando affiliate WFTV.

Pretty soon, they had a large collection of colorful cards to give out to families of the victims. Upon receiving the cards, people would usually smile, cry or even hug Madison, Pink said. "They were thankful."

Madison even gave a card to Florida Rep. Corrine Brown, according to her mother. Brown's district includes Orlando.

Pink describes her daughter as a normal 6 year old who likes drawing, singing and dancing, animals and nature. She also said Madison has a big heart, and raised more than $700 in an online drive for the American Heart Association last year.
