Police Release More Footage of Suspect in Texas Church Murder
The person was dressed in SWAT gear.
— -- Police have released more surveillance footage of the supposed suspect believed to have killed a Texas mother inside a church.
Terri "Missy" Bevers' killer is still at large, and police in Midlothian, Texas, have teamed up with federal authorities in the search.
Bevers' body was found in the Creekside Church of Christ on Monday. Police previously released surveillance footage that shows a person dressed in police SWAT gear. The individual's name and sex have not been determined but that person is suspected of killing Bevers.
"The suspect arrived at the church first and forced entry into the location," Kevin Johnson, the assistant chief of the Midlothian police, said today.
Bevers, 45, was seen on security footage parking in the church's lot and entering the building "not realizing the intruder was already inside," Johnson said.
Midlothian police are calling for help from the public, and they hope that the new surveillance footage -- which shows the suspect walking around other parts of the church -- prompts clues from others.
Johnson said that they are "fielding numerous leads," but they do not have an identified suspect at this time.
