A powerful image taken this week shows a young Syrian Kurdish child crying as Turkish police search the bags of people crossing the border, fleeing unrest in Syria.

Viewers instantly connected with the photo, calling it tear-jerking, and moving. Tens of thousands of Syrians have flooded into Turkey in an attempt to escape brutal attacks by ISIS. More than 1 million Syrians have already fled to Turkey in the past few years.

Meanwhile, the United States is also getting involved, launching airstrikes into Syria targeting the extremists.
