— -- Oscar-nominated actress Rosie Perez is leaving "The View" at the end of the season after nearly a year on the show.

Perez, who starred in "White Men Can't Jump" and is currently starring in Larry David's Broadway play "Fish in the Dark," is leaving the show "to pursue full time her love for acting."

"Stepping into the role of talk show host at the same time she has been starring on Broadway has been incredibly impressive," said Executive Producer Bill Wolff in an email to staff. "And beyond being an enormously talented performer, Rosie is a dedicated advocate who has brought passion and insight to the panel every day."

Perez joined ABC's "The View" in September 2014 along with Nicole Wallace, an author and MSNBC analyst.

She earned an Academy Award nomination for her work in "Fearless."

"Rosie will always be a part of “The View” family, and we will welcome her back as a guest anytime to catch up," Wolff said.
