Skydiver Releases Video of Mid-Air Collision
Sebastian Leal's video shows him spiraling down to earth.
— -- A video of the two skydivers who collided with each other mid-air Tuesday over Pasco County, Florida, has been released by one of the skydivers, 23-year-old Sebastian Leal.
The video, shot by a camera attached to Leal’s helmet, shows Leal and his 40-year-old skydiving partner spiraling down to the earth.
As ABC previously reported, Leal was initially listed in critical condition following the accident, while the 40-year-old was listed in serious but stable condition. The condition of Leal's skydiving partner was unknown.
“I hit the power lines after my reserve parachute deployed, fracturing 4 vertebrae,” Leal told ABC News Wednesday. “They are not broken, though, so I am hopeful that I will recover.”
Leal says he will leave Tampa, where he’s been hospitalized, on Thursday and head to Atlanta’s Shepherd Center for rehabilitation. “Don’t know how long [I’ll be there], but probably five to 10 weeks,” he added.
