It's not always enough to know what's "trending." It kind of helps to know why. Welcome to the Social Climber, where we provide a quick primer on the people, places and things that are being feverishly searched and shared online -- and try to make sense of it all.
Guess Who Tops Forbes' 'Most Overpaid Actors' List?
Drum roll please ... And the award for Forbes' Most Overpaid Actor goes to ... Adam Sandler!
The "Billy Madison" and "Grown Ups" star topped the list by having a string of movies that have been less than stellar at the box office, but still commanding a paycheck "north of $15 million," according to Forbes.
The top five were rounded out by Katherine Heigl, Reese Witherspoon, Nicolas Cage and Kevin James.
The magazine said they compiled the list by looking at the last three movies each actor starred in over the last three years and factors including pay, movie budgets and expenses.
I bet Happy Gilmore is still pretty happy.

Bob Barker is returning to his old stomping grounds to celebrate his 90th birthday.
Barker retired from "The Price is Right" in 2007, but will be back on the show on Thursday for a birthday bash in an episode that was taped last month, according to the L.A. Times.
Happy birthday, Bob. Social Climber hopes you win a new refrigerator.

"Breakdown. Breakdown. Breakdown. I was scared to death. I was losing my mind."
Those are the first few words of "Glee" star Lea Michele's first single off of her upcoming album, "Louder," scheduled to drop early next year.
No word from Michele on what the song is about, but the actress did have a tough year with the death of her boyfriend and "Glee" co-star Cory Monteith in July.
But it seems the powerhouse vocalist is bouncing back from the breakdown. The song's refrain goes, "I got this new beginning and I will fly, I'll fly like a cannonball." Social Climber loves it.
It feels as if Santa gave Sarah Palin a sneak peek of America's Christmas wish lists. Otherwise how could she have known that all we wanted was for her to host an outdoors program on the Sportsman Channel?
Tom Caraccioli, spokesperson for the channel, confirmed the weekly show titled "Amazing America with Sarah Palin" will premiere in April, 2014 and will be the first part of the network's "Red, Wild, & Blue America" programming.
In a statement, the show is described as an "anthology of stories that explore some of the most original, interesting – and sometimes inspiring – people, places and pastimes connected to America's outdoors lifestyle."
Wish granted, America.
