Do You Buy M-Rated Video Games for Your Teen?

April 3, 2006 -- -- The Entertainment Software Ratings Board, which determines the ratings for video and computer games, says that M-rated games are intended for persons 17 years or older. They're games that contain "intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content, and/or strong language," according to the ESRB. Despite that, the most recent data from the Federal Trade Commission finds that 40 percent of the M-rated games bought in 2002 were purchased for children under 17.
