Suspected Armed Bank Robber Shot, Killed Outside Miami Beach Barber Shop, Police Say

— -- A suspected bank robber, allegedly armed with a razor, was shot and killed outside a Miami Beach, Florida, barber shop, police said.
First a "hold up" was reported this morning at a Bank of America in Miami Beach, Miami Beach Police Department spokeswoman Kathleen Prieto said. A 911 caller said the suspect was armed with a bomb and passed a note to the teller, she said.
Responding police were told the suspect fled the bank and went into a barber shop, Prieto said.
Police arrived at the barber shop and saw the suspect inside, but the suspect at first refused to come out, she said.
The suspect then "emerged with a straight edge razor in his hand," Prieto said.
"Shots were fired and the subject is deceased," she said.
While the Miami Beach Police did not specify who fired the shots, the shooting was caught on video, which appears to show a police officer firing at the suspect. The video does not capture dialogue between the police and suspect.
The Miami-Dade County Police Department will investigate the shooting "pursuant to departmental policy," while the FBI and Miami Beach Police will investigate the bank robbery, the Miami Beach Police said.
The Miami-Dade County Police Department could not be immediately reached for comment.
