Video from the council meeting features audible popping sounds -– followed by a man yelling at meeting attendees, leaving the council members ducking behind their desk. One of the council members, John Elder, a police officer, is seen drawing his handgun.

“Get down! Get down! Everybody get down,” a man instructs the crowd.

“That went right through the door!” Someone else can be heard saying on the video. “Somebody got shot.”

Two officers were scheduled to be sworn in during the meeting, but it’s unclear whether they were the officers involved with the shooting.
