1. Boy Scouts Discusses Lifting Gay Ban
The Boy Scouts of America might soon give troop sponsors the authority to decide whether to accept gays as scouts and leaders. This is a potentially dramatic turnaround could be announced as early as next week.

2. Masked 'Black Bloc' a Mystery in Egypt Unrest
A group of masked men called the Black Bloc, who consider themselves defenders of protesters opposed to Egypt's Islamist president's rule, have joined the country's political unrest. The group says they are willing to use force against Islamists who have previously attacked protesters.

3. Police Arrest 3 in Connection With Nightclub Fire
Three people have been arrested in connection to the nightclub fire that left more than 230 dead in Brazil over the weekend, authorities say. The owner of the club, the club's security chief and a band member are reportedly being questioned by police.

4. 16 People Sickened With Salmonella
Federal health officials say at least 16 people in five states have fallen ill from salmonella food poisoning linked to ground beef. No one has died but several were hospitalized.

5. New Breeds Added to Westminster Kennel Club
America's top dog show is welcoming two new breeds this year. The treeing Walker coonhound and Russell terriers are now part of the 187 different breeds that will compete in the Westminster Kennel Club show in two weeks.
