I've just finished dead tour here at the Brownsville Border Patrol station what about thirty other reporters -- were taken into this building here. Where they're housing 500 unaccompanied minors children who were picked up along the border coming across most of them from Central America on the -- We're able to see the conditions they're kept in for the first 72 hours by the Border Patrol. There in individual pods sort of cell areas no bars -- glass very heart wrenching because many of the kids are really young I would say between. Five years old and ten years old. And their faces are up against this glass and they're just looking at you as you walk by. There's hope in their eyes -- there's also fear in the rise you can see that we're Border Patrol it has kept a quite clean its sanitary. -- -- -- There's a restroom and each one of the pods for them to use. But what's interesting is that these kids. Only allowed outside for thirty minutes today. During those thirty minutes they're taken to an area here behind. But that barbed wire fences of grassy area and they've set up portable trailers there. Where the kids get their showers once today. And -- closer than watch. There Harris -- they're checked for any kind of -- and that kind of thing. And then -- -- allowed to play for the remainder of the thirty minutes some of the younger ones were coloring in coloring books others are playing soccer -- a little area. They're kept here. Supposedly fully 72 hours at the Border Patrol admitted today. If they're not being able to process them that that quickly and they're staying here for much longer now before there actually are sent to a better facility when by the department of human services and health services. So the conditions here as we say sanitary. But certainly not a condition that you -- at the end and for children must be very difficult. To be in these pods. That are quite crowded in fact double.
