In the southbound lanes of jamboree road saint skid marks -- the -- -- As it hit the curb then a tree the impact was so severe it severed the vehicle and started a fire. There was a car on fire. It appear to be at least two vehicles -- -- investigated a little further we found it was one vehicle that split in half. The wreckage landed in the northbound lanes. Newport Beach firefighters say three people ejected from the car and one person partially ejected died at the scene a fifth occupant thrown from the car. Was transported to a hospital but did not survive what we know at this point in our investigation is that we believe speed was a contributing factor in the collision. The speed limit on the stretch of jamboree is 55 miles per hour. Investigators have not yet determined how fast the Infiniti was -- -- or what caused the driver to swerve off the road. This was a horrific accidents and one that certainly is one of the worst we've had in recent memory Newport Beach it's -- very sad sad event that has hurt.
