Waco, Texas, Biker Shooting Caught on Video
Five known biker gangs were involved, police said.
— -- Police have released video that captured the scene of the violent brawl that erupted between rival Texas biker groups that left nine suspected gang members dead and 170 in custody.
The video shows the chaos unfold in the Twin Peaks Restaurant parking lot in Waco, where bikers were armed with guns, knives and brass knuckles, police said. Video shows police with guns pointed at the bikers, some of whom were on the ground.
Officers were already at the scene when the shooting started, Waco Police Sgt. Patrick Swanton said, and responded within 30 to 45 seconds. Some officers "appropriately" returned fire at the bikers, Swanton said.
No officers were injured, police said.
Police said investigators were still processing the crime scene Monday.
Members of as many as five biker gangs had gathered at Twin Peaks Restaurant in the Central Texas Market Place to discuss their differences, Swanton said. A fistfight began and quickly escalated to include knives and firearms, and then spilled into the parking lot, where gang members fired at each other, Swanton said.
Eighteen people were taken from the scene Sunday to hospitals, mostly for gunshot and stab wounds, police said.
