Wildfires Out West: See the Smoke Rising Over Chelan, Washington
Nine thousand homes are without power in Chelan, Washington.

— -- Smoke is rising over Chelan, Washington, as wildfires threaten the town, located about 175 miles east of Seattle.
The fires burned down utility poles, leaving 9,000 homes without power, officials said.
Fifteen hundred homes are under evacuation orders. The local hospital was also evacuated.
Elizabeth Ebeling took these photos Saturday. Her family has left their cabin on Lake Chelan and they were told the house is still there as of this morning.
There are 73 large fires burning in the U.S., mostly stretching from northern California to Montana.
