Sept. 10, 2010— -- Two stories centering on the Islamic faith collided Thursday as a Florida pastor announced that he'd cancel plans to burn copies of the Koran if a New York City imam would call off plans to build a mosque near ground zero.

Pastor Terry Jones said he would not go forward with his Koran burning plan, which sparked worldwide outrage and condemnation, though Imam Faisal Abdual Rauf has said he is not willing to barter by moving the planned Islamic center and mosque.

With these stories dominating the news in recent weeks, more Americans are talking about Islam than ever before. There is plenty of confusion about the Islamic faith, so "ABC World News" is taking your questions. What do Muslims actually believe? And what is different about life for Muslims?

We'll answer questions about Islam in a series next week on the broadcast and at abcnews.com/wn. Share your questions below, and we may include them in our coverage.
