We spoke tonight with the ORGANIZERS OF senator McCain's trip. They told us that he crossed into syria from turkey with a contingent of u.S. Security but was mainly under the protection of syrian rebels. We're told he wanted to go deeper into syria, but, in the end, went just across the border. He spent about an hour speaking with five different rebel commanders who came from all over syria to plead with him for heavier weapons, a flow-fly zone, and air strikes against the forces of president bashar al assad. They also repeated claims that the assad regime has used chemical weapons. McCAIN HAS BEEN ONE OF THE MOST Outspoken supporters of arming the syrian rebels, and we're told they made it clear they're not happy with the lack of u.S. Support.
