Next, to Ukraine tonight, and that high stakes election. And this evening, it would appear that a candyman has become president. The question now, though, will president Putin keep his promise to respect the outcome? ABC's Alex Marquardt in Ukraine tonight with more on the businessman turned leader. Reporter: The man they call "The chocolate king" will soon take on the title of president. Pro-western billionaire Petro poroshenko, who made his fortune in the candy business, tonight, promised to end the violent chaos that has gripped eastern Ukraine and unite the country. But pro-russian separatists there made it impossible for most to vote today, as they smashed ballot boxes and forced polling stations to close. While in the capital, kiev, we saw a strong turnout of enthusiastic and optimistic voters. People want a new state. They want a modern, Normal european country. Reporter: If Ukraine does move closer to the west and away from Russia, as tonight's winner has promised, the big question will be, if president Putin keeps his word to work with Ukraine's new leader.
