Bianna Golodryga Named Co-Anchor of Weekend 'Good Morning America'

May 7, 2010— -- Bianna Golodryga has been named the co-anchor of the weekend edition of "Good Morning America," ABC News president David Westin announced today.

Golodryga joins co-anchor Bill Weir and news anchor Ron Claiborne on the broadcast beginning this Saturday.

"Since coming to ABC News in July 2007, Bianna has distinguished the network with her reporting on the economy and recent financial crisis," Westin said in an e-mail to the ABC News staff about the announcement.

In her new role, Westin said Golodryga will continue to report on the economy, Wall Street, business trends and financial issues as a correspondent for all ABC News broadcasts and platforms.

Golodryga joined ABC News in July 2007, covering the economy and business beat. During that time, she also served as substitute co-anchor and news anchor on "Good Morning America."

She has reported extensively on the automobile, housing and credit crisis as well as the collapse of Bear Stearns and AIG. She has also reported on the World Economic Forum from Davos, Switzerland and Warren Buffett's annual shareholder's meeting in Omaha, Nebraska. Additionally, Golodryga helped lead the network's digital media and social networking coverage during the 2008 presidential election.

Golodryga began her career in television news in 2001 as a bureau producer from the New York Stock Exchange for the cable news channel CNBC. In that role, she produced live coverage following the 9/11 terrorist attacks and conducted numerous interviews with top business leaders.
