Check out some of the most unique options from chain restaurants.
— -- The beauty of a fast food chain is that it’s the same no matter where you are … except when it isn’t. While most locations are cookie cutter versions of the next, some restaurants offer specials unique to that region.
McDonald’s, for example, just launched a lobster roll only available in the Northeast, while Jack in the Box sells SPAM burgers in just Hawaii. These dishes are a chance to try a little local flavor from brands you trust. Check out some of the most unique options for when a plain burger and fries just isn’t going to cut it.
McDonald’s Lobster Roll and Spirit of Kentucky Burger
Just introduced in June, the McDonald’s Lobster Roll is appropriately only available at participating locations in the Northeast: Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut (excluding Fairfield County). The Spirit of Kentucky Burger, on the other hand, is of course only available in select restaurants in Kentucky and Indiana and features a quarter-pound beef patty with Applewood-smoked bacon, tomato, lettuce, onions, white cheddar and a bourbon-flavored sauce.Jack in the Box SPAM Dishes
Hawaiians love their SPAM, and Jack in the Box gives it to them. Only available on the islands and Guam, the SPAM Teriyaki Jr. Jack is a beef burger with SPAM, lettuce, tomato, pickle, chopped onions, mayonnaise and Teriyaki sauce on Jack’s bun and the SPAM Breakfast Croissant is a classic Jack in the Box egg and cheese sandwich with SPAM on a croissant.Taco Bell Chili Cheese Burrito
Not all Taco Bells have chili, but some franchises do, turning the Americana dish into a chili cheese burrito in Ohio and Minnesota.
