Daniel Radcliffe: Why I Wouldn't Play Adult Harry Potter Now

— -- Daniel Radcliffe played Harry Potter for years.

However, he's not sure that he'd be the right person to portray the character should J.K. Rowling's new story about adult-Harry make it to the big screen.

"I don't know. My inclination is to say 'No,'" Radcliffe said, according to HitFix. "It's not even hypothetical at the moment."

Rowling recently published a new story about 33-year-old Harry attending a Quidditch World Cup with his family, Ron and Hermione. At 1,500 words, though, Radcliffe says not to expect a screenplay to come of it.

"What she’s written, I haven’t read it yet. I am going to read it," he said. "But [it is], as I understand it, a very short piece that I’m not sure it, of itself, worthy of adaptation to film."

However, he did sound somewhat hopeful. While right now he's not right for the part, Radcliffe, 24, said to give him time.

"He's at least sorta 12 years older in it than I am now," he said, "so I don't think I'll have to worry about that for a long time, I'm hoping."
