June 4, 2013— -- Seven members of a Guatemalan family are among the 18 victims of the tornado that hit Oklahoma City last Friday May 31st, the second tornado to hit the state in the last two weeks.

Among the victims are three adults, husband and wife Samuel and Florinda Cifuentes, and their 4 year-old son Alex, and her cousin Yolanda Santos and her three children ranging in ages from nine to five years old.

All of the adults were undocumented immigrants from the Guatemalan town of La Esperanza. The four children were all US citizens.

The family run for shelter under a canal bridge, but fast rising waters swept them all away. Ironically their house was left intact.

Guatemala's government is helping surviving relatives repatriate the bodies as soon as possible.
